Holding company figures: The 2014 rankings do not include the majority of agencies owned by the following holding companies: Interpublic Group, Omnicom, WPP Group, Havas, and Publicis Groupe. These companies claim the Sarbanes-Oxley Act prohibits them from revealing revenues and headcounts for their constituent agencies.
Data: Revenue is defined as fee income earned in the US, markup on billable items, and, when applicable, advertising commissions up to 10% of fee income. Revenue from subsidiaries and affiliates was not included if there was less than 50% ownership, while "n/a" denotes not applicable, where the agency did not submit the figure.
1) FTI Consulting’s 2013 revenue figure incorporates C2 Group, a Washington-based lobby firm the agency acquired last March.
2) Finn Partners’ 2013 revenue and staff figures include the full-year numbers of Widmeyer Communications, which Finn Partners acquired last July.
3) Padilla Speer Beardsley acquired CRT/tanaka last September, creating the merged PadillaCRT entity. The 2012 US revenue and staff numbers indicated above are a combination of both firms’ 2012 figures ($16,875,860 for Padilla and $13,009,202 for CRT/tanaka).
