YouTube policies affected spread of false election videos on other platforms. NYU’s Center for Social Media and Politics found YouTube’s stricter policies against election misinformation resulted in a sharp drop of these types of YouTube videos shared on Facebook and Twitter. 

Twitter tests a way to show users more ads. The social media company will begin experimenting with inserting ads inside conversation threads on mobile devices. It’s considering making this an opt-in option, where creators would share in ad revenue.

Twitter also brings paid ticketed spaces to Android users in the U.S. Over the next few days, hosts on Twitter’s live audio room, Spaces, will be able to sell access to audiences with ticketed spaces, using Androids. The rollout for iOS users already occurred in August. The exclusive paid events are another way for creators to earn money.
