Rebecca Galbraith has become the third ex-board director at Cohn & Wolfe to settle court proceedings issued by their former agency in the High Court.

C&W alleged that Galbraith acted in breach of contract and fiduciary duty by misappropriating proprietary information belonging to C&W and preparing to actively compete with the agency while sitting as a board director.

Galbraith said in a statement: ‘Firstly I wish to apologise unreservedly to Cohn & Wolfe and WPP for my actions, but secondly I wish to apologise to the Cohn & Wolfe team in London.

‘I accept my conduct was in breach of my legal obligations. I acknowledge I removed proprietary information belonging to Cohn & Wolfe but confirm that I did not open or disseminate that information to any third parties.'

Galbraith has paid an undisclosed settlement to her former agency, which is led in London by CEO Fiona Noble.

Galbraith is the latest former C&W employee to settle. Last week, PRWeek revealed that another healthcare board director, Fiona McMillan, had settled out-of-court and paid C&W a contribution to costs.

Jeremy Clark settled a week before and is believed to have paid his former agency £25,000.
