The charity has strengthened its communications offering with the hiring of Richard Deeks as its top comms man.
Deeks heads the ten-strong team of communications experts briefed with boosting the profile of the organisation and raising awareness of issues surrounding sight loss.
Prior to his role as brand and marketing manager at Age Concern England, Deeks worked in advertising, heading accounts such as MS Society, Rolls-Royce, Airbus and AT&T.
Miriam Martin, Action for Blind People director of development, said: 'Richard is joining Action at a very exciting time, with it having just joined the RNIB Group and gone through a significant restructure. The organisation is looking to raise awareness of the work it does and his hire signifies a move in a new direction for Action for Blind People.'
