Public Affairs: The Week in Lobbying

The University of Central Lancashire is seeking fresh corporate and public affairs support, having put a major account with Weber Shandwick out to pitch.

Weber Shandwick corporate and public affairs chairman Jon McLeod confirmed there was a repitch, but declined to provide further details.

The Whitehouse Consultancy has made four hires. Emma Carr joins from the Social Market Foundation as a senior consultant, while Carl Thomson joins as a consultant, having previously worked for Conservative MPs Theresa May and John Redwood. The agency has also taken on two junior consultants.

Hill & Knowlton has ended its search for a new CEO in Brussels by appointing the CEO of its Amsterdam office. Jeroen van Seeters will lead both H&K's Brussels office and its operations across the Benelux region.

Westminster Advisers held a breakfast briefing last Thursday on how a hung parliament or minority government could affect the civil service and what this means for public affairs professionals. MD Dominic Church summarises some of the findings in this week's Soap Box.

The agency has also been taken on by Core Assets, an international public sector outsourcing business, to handle corporate comms and public affairs.
