The Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) has handed
the lion’s share of its public relations account to Hollander en
van der Mey after 15 years with Shandwick van de Meeberg.
NFIA, which is run by the Dutch ministry of economic affairs and
encourages companies to set up shop in the Netherlands, put up
the PR business for review late last year (PR Week, 22 November
1996). After an initial beauty parade of eight consultancies
three were finally shortlisted: Shandwick, Hollander en van der
Mey and Beauchez PR.
From 1 May Hollander van der Mey will take charge of an extensive
PR brief including the production of newsletters, factsheets and
brochures and the handling of direct mail. The agency, which is
an affiliate of Manning Selvage and Lee will report to Willem
Thone, director of the NFIA’s Europe bureau.
However, Shandwick will continue to manage media relations
assignments, including top level briefings for foreign
correspondents based in the Netherlands.
