GPC Market Access launches its pan-European network this week,
formalising an existing relationship with affiliates across the
The network, which has been named GPC Market Access Group, links 14
public affairs consultancies in each European Union member state, except
Luxembourg, which will be served by Brussels-based GPC Market Access
Both Market Access and GPC Connect in the UK are also members.
Affiliates will continue to operate under their own names locally but
may also adopt the GPC brand.
Julia Harrison, managing director of Market Access Europe, said that the
establishment of the network consolidated the existing relationships
between the consultancies and followed on from the merger of GPC and
Market Access in Brussels last year (PR Week 24 November, 1995).
More particularly, she said, there was a growing need for representation
in each of the EU national capitals as the interaction between Brussels
institutions and member states intensified and clients increasingly
recognised the need to lobby locally.
GPC Market Access will also be linked to Porter Novelli Washington, its
sister company within the Omnicom group, and the independent GPC Canada.
