PRAGUE: Leading mobile phone manufacturer Motorola has asked six
agencies to pitch for its corporate PR account for the Czech and Slovak
Republics in the latest installment of its pan-European agency
review.
Euro RSCG, Eklektik Communications, Interel PR and Corporate
Communications, Burson-Marsteller and Hill and Knowlton are believed to
be among the agencies pitching for the work, which commands a
five-figure annual fee.
Motorola has used Interel to handle its corporate account in the Czech
Republic since 1993. The company has not previously employed an agency
in the Slovak Republic, where it is seeking to increase sales.
It is looking for a single agency to handle both countries. Heidi Voss,
Motorola’s corporate communications manager for Central and Eastern
Europe, confirmed the review. Motorola is expected to make a decision on
the appointment in mid-December.
The company is in the process of conducting a review of all its European
PR consultancies. Most recently, the company handed its German account
to Fink and Fuchs (PR Week 26 June). Its lead agency for Europe, the
Middle East and Africa is Hill and Knowlton.
