PUBLIC SECTOR: Hastings seeks replacement for Capper
Hastings Borough Council is looking for a new communications manager to replace Graham Capper who has left to become a press officer at the Department of Trade and Industry. With a budget of over pounds 30,000 the new appointee will handle all external relations, as well as the council’s newsletter. The role reports to Tony Constantine, head of regeneration and tourism development. The new communications manager will be responsible for carrying out an audit of the council’s PR activities. Marketing manager Kevin Boorman is currently caretaking communications. He said: ’The issue now is talking up the council as well as talking up the town. It has not been as clear as it might be what the council is doing.’
