PUBLIC SECTOR: Surrey Heath takes PR in-house with Taylor

Surrey Heath Borough Council has brought its PR work back in-house with the appointment of Melanie Taylor as its first press and communications officer. The council has been using Aquila Public Relations. Now Taylor will take on press activity, some internal communications and council publications, including a Millennium booklet about the borough to be published at the end of next year. Taylor started her new job this week and reports to Jerry Fisher, corporate services manager. She was formerly campaigns and research assistant at the Campaign for Real Ale.
