Flack: Biannual Hacks v Flacks charity football match takes place

One of the sporting events of the media calendar took place on Saturday, the biannual Hacks v Flacks charity football match, this time with accompanying netball match in west London.

The event, organised once again by FD's irrepressible James Melville-Ross, benefited from glorious weather and 'creative tension' between journos and PROs, who like to work, and play, hard.

In the footie, the Hacks bravely ground out a rare 3-2 victory, while in the netball the Flacks triumphed by a more convincing 29-8. The event raised £10,000 for Kids Company.

1. For the Hacks, PRWeek editor Danny Rogers (white) beats New Century's Alex Nekrassov to the ball. Mark Kleinman, City editor at Sky News, looks on.

2. Melville-Ross soars above the FT's Patrick Mathurin (voted 'man of the match'), while the goalie, Brands2Life founder Giles Fraser, readies a clearing punch.

3. To prove that netball is no less physical, Lana Clements (in blue), from More Than's press office, battles The Observer's Anushka Asthana for the ball.
