Public Affairs: Luther ready to join APPC

Luther Pendragon is set to join the Association of Professional Political Consultants, after years of shunning the industry-wide body.

The independent corporate and public affairs consultancy submitted an application this month. It will be considered by the APPC management committee at its next meeting on 10 May.

The move is believed to be linked to Luther's recent acquisition of Quintus, headed by Chris Guyver (PRWeek, 10 December 2009).

Guyver, now a director at Luther, said: 'I am delighted Luther is joining an organisation that I helped to set up in 1994, which has helped bring transparency to the UK public affairs industry and promotes the case for an open and honest lobbying industry, assisting proper accountable democracy.'
