STOP PRESS: Social workers still get a bad press
Social workers are failing to get their message across to the media, resulting in overwhelmingly negative coverage, according to a study undertaken by Sheffield University sociology lecturer Bob Franklin. Negative articles outweighed positive ones fourfold in the broadsheets and by a factor of 15 in the tabloid press in the year ending last June.
