The site provides a resource for clinicians, which features digests and stories from across the NHS in Scotland and also from international partners.

Smarts' brief includes the collection and creation of content for the website to encourage greater awareness of the importance of using information. The agency will also aim to drive knowledge-sharing of service improvements among clinicians working for the NHS and the wider international health community.

The Using Information website is a partnership between NHS Education Knowledge Services Group (KSG) and Scottish Government eHealth Directorate.

It supports NHS Scotland's vision for eHealth to ‘exploit the power of electronic information to help ensure that patients get the right care, involving the right clinicians, at the right time, to deliver the right outcome' and provides a platform to drive national and international best practice.
