Fishburn Hedges has dropped its 18-month search for a director of public
affairs and adopted an internal solution instead.
Graham McMillan, a consultant with the agency since 1994, has been
promoted to associate director and will oversee day-to-day public
affairs work as public affairs manager. This will include deploying and
recruiting staff and identifying new business opportunities. Managing
director John Williams will have overall responsibility for public
affairs at board level.
McMillan, who was with Westminster Strategy before joining FH, explained
that the agency had evolved as an integrated PR provider offering
corporate and financial support and design services as well as public
affairs advice. Setting up a separate public affairs division would thus
be inappropriate, he said.
