If you are in PR for the fame and glamour, you’re in the wrong business.
At least according to College Hill secretary Suzanne Rigden.
Rigden is leaving the profession because there is not enough of it
around and is heading for a real taste of the luvvy life with a leading
role in The Mousetrap, the world’s longest running play, at St Martin’s
Theatre in London.
‘I did acting for five or six years,’ explains Suzanne, ‘But a couple of
years ago I decided to work for some proper money. Then I went to the
audition with a friend last week and it brought it all back to me. I
couldn’t believe it when I got the part.
‘It has been really good fun here, but you’re dealing with other
people’s glamour and this is an opportunity not to be missed.’
Suzanne will play guest-house owner Mollie Ralston in the 43-yeas-old
whodunit for an initial six-month run.
But it is good to know she will be taking with her the invaluable skills
acquired during her short time in PR. When asked by PR Week about the
identity of the murderer in the play she replied: ‘I can’t comment on
that’.
