Who said lunch was for wimps? Certainly not PR veteran Reggie Watts.
Viewers of BBC 2’s Nice Work: Tools of the Trade series can see Reggie
waxing lyrical about the merits of lunch as a tool of the PR trade and
explaining why a couple of hours in the Ivy is, in fact, jolly hard
‘People plan meetings in the office with meticulous care, but don’t give
much thought to planning lunch,’ says Watts. ‘The right atmosphere, even
the right distance between tables can play a crucial part in the
business of selling. Lots of PR people will head for the Ritz or the
Caprice, when a brasserie-style restaurant may be better.’
Watts, who on the day of filming managed two sittings in Overtons - one
with the crew and one with the camera - says it’s all about ‘lunch
Which should go some way to explaining just why you’ve found it so hard
all these years to keep your eyes open when you get back to the office.
