Avantgarde will serve as a communications hub for BASF in the region, co-ordinating the work of FD International network members across eight countries.

The FD International network won the business following a competitive tender. Other affiliate members that will work on the account include JWA (Czech Republic and Slovakia), United Partners (Bulgaria), DC Communication (Romania) and Pristop (Slovenia, Serbia and Croatia).

'We were looking for a communications partner who could support us with classical communications services as well as a strategic approach for future projects,' said Peter Kertész, PR manager of BASF Hungary.

BASF's 2010 comms focus will revolve around the company's solutions to such global challenges as energy management and nutrition. The FD network will aid BASF with these efforts and support future projects concerning low-energy housing.
