STOP PRESS: Reardon exits Social Security press post

Steve Reardon, information director at the department of Social Security, has resigned. He is the fifth senior government press officer to leave since Labour came into government. Reardon, 50, has headed information at the DSS for nearly ten years, and has worked for the Government Information Service for nearly 30 years. In a statement his department said that Reardon ’recognises the need for a change of style and approach in the information directorate’.
