NEWS: Countrywide wins GE Plastics’ Euro contract

Plastics manufacturer GE Plastics, a subsidiary of General Electric of America, has hired Countrywide Communications International to co- ordinate media activity across Europe.

Plastics manufacturer GE Plastics, a subsidiary of General Electric of

America, has hired Countrywide Communications International to co-

ordinate media activity across Europe.

Under the deal signed earlier this month, Countrywide will run a

newsroom service for GE Plastics from its Brussels office.

The appointment follows a three-way pitch last month and was prompted by

GEP’s new European communications manager Dawn Lawton. Countrywide

already works for the Association of Plastics Manufacturers in Europe,

of which GEP is a member.

The move signals an end to the company’s relationships with local

agencies in Germany, the UK, Italy and Spain, where members of the

Communications International (to be renamed Porter Novelli

International) will take over.
