INTERNATIONAL: UN environment agency seeks out new PR head

NAIROBI: The United Nations Environment Fund, which works with governments to protect the environment, is seeking a new communications head.

NAIROBI: The United Nations Environment Fund, which works with

governments to protect the environment, is seeking a new communications

head.



The previous post-holder, Sergei Khromov, has been promoted to resource

mobilisation chief for the Nairobi-based organisation.



The new deputy director/ deputy spokesperson for the fund’s

communications and public information branch will report to executive

director Klaus Topfer, and lead a team of eight people.



The appointed person will be in charge of tasks including media

relations, event management and lining up media interviews for

Topfer.



Part of the job’s remit is to promote events the fund stages, which

include World Environment Day on 5 June.



’Topfer is interested in putting the right emphasis in the right media

at the optimum time,’ said Khromov.
