HAMBURG: Burson-Marsteller has promoted its Hamburg managing
director, Harel Seidenwerg, to head its German operation, a post which
has been vacant for the past year.
A trained doctor, Seidenwerg is also B-M’s healthcare practice chair, a
position he will keep for the time being.
He took up his new post earlier this month. The position was previously
held by Gabriela Eick. Seidenwerg will report to B-M’s European CEO, Ken
Rietz and oversee a total of 50 staff across the agency’s Frankfurt and
Hamburg offices. He will also have partial responsibility for B-M’s
public affairs units in Berlin and Bonn.
Of his new position, he said: ’The success of this business is derived
from the people and the expertise we have. My main goal is to recruit
good experts in our practice fields.’
In addition, he said that he will re-establish marketing communications
as a distinct practice. It was incorporated into B-M’s German corporate
practice last year.
Seidenwerg plans to split his time between Frankfurt - where the
agency’s administrative support staff are - and Hamburg. He will not be
replaced as Hamburg MD.
