SFX Entertainment, the US promoter, producer and live-entertainment
venue operator, which which was reported last week to be preparing a
takeover bid for Wembley Stadium, has retained Shandwick to handle its

corporate PR for SFX as required, in London and across Europe.
Shandwick director Andrew Best will head the financial element of the
SFX has so far refused to confirm or deny reports that it is interested
in acquiring Wembley, the leisure group which owns the stadium,
neighbouring exhibition venues, six greyhound tracks and corporate
hospitality business Keith Prowse in the UK. Wembley also has gaming,
horse and dog track interests in the US.
However, the group, which already owns sports promotion agency the
Marquee Group in the UK, is interested in building its business
interests throughout Europe and will call on Shandwick to provide PR
support as deals arise.
Enic, the sports entertainment group, made a bid for Wembley in January,
which was rejected. Enic’s financial PR is handled by Financial
Dynamics, and Wembley retains The Communication Group to represent its
