The Body Shop International and McDonald’s carried off a bundle of
trophies between them at this year’s PR Week Awards.
For its campaign on behalf of the late Ken Saro-Wiwa and the Ogoni
people of Nigeria, the Body Shop won the coveted Campaign of the Year
Gold award, as well as the award for Best International Campaign. The
company also won In-house Department of the Year award.
The McDonald’s in-house team also took three awards. It won the Best
Crisis Management category, for its response to this year’s BSE scare,
and head of communications Mike Love won the title of PR Professional of
the Year. The Craft award for Best Internal Publication went to McNews.
The Consultancy of the Year Gold award went to the Red Consultancy.
There were a record 550 entries to this year’s awards, which were
presented at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on Wednesday night.
