Great North Eastern Railways parent company Sea Containers Services
has hired Westminster Strategy to promote the rail operator among new
Labour MPs.
GNER operates the east coast line, which runs from King’s Cross through
the North East to Scotland. Following the general election there has
been an influx of new MPs in the constituencies through which the line
runs.
’We’re looking to ensure that MPs along that route are aware of the
improvements that we’re bringing to the intercity east coast,’ said
Steve Lawrence, group corporate communications manager at Sea
Containers.
The company already retains Westminster Strategy at a corporate level
for political consultancy and lobbying services. Lawrence reviewed Sea
Containers’ lobbying account earlier this year, when Charles Barker were
ousted in favour of Westminster Strategy.
