Worldcom has emerged as the leading European network of independent consultancies in the 1997 PR Week European Consultancies League Table, published this week.

Entente International Communication was pushed from the top slot by the

21-member European network, which reported a fee income of pounds 27.8

million following its merger with Globalink in September last year.



Euro RSCG held on to its number one position in the Owned Groups, and

French league tables. But in Germany Euro RSCG surrendered the top slot

to rival Kohtes and Klewes - owned by Porter Novelli International -

following a 15 per cent drop in fee income to 11.5 million.



Following its restructuring along practice management lines,

Burson-Marsteller pushed Sanchis and Asociados back into second place in

the Spanish ranking, knocked Barabino and Partners from the top of the

Italian league and topped the Belgian chart with fee income of pounds

2.9 million.
