Flack: (Saving) on Expenses - The Shore, Edinburgh

Reviewer: Gillian Hamilton, account manager, Threebrand PR

- What is it good for?

Located next to the water of Leith and in a modern hot spot for creative and culinary activities, The Shore is perfect for client lunches and after-work drinks.

- Signature dishes?

The oysters, always mouth-watering and a favourite among regulars, are served with horseradish Bloody Mary or baked with garlic butter and Parmesan crumb. For the less adventurous, there is always fish and chips.

- Who's the boss?

Jake Millar is the owner and also runs Fishers on the Shore and Fishers in the City.

- Tips please?

During the summer, the outside seating area is perfect for taking in the surroundings on the water of Leith. We like to reserve one of the tables by the cosy fire to unwind after a busy day in the office during the colder months, over a nice bottle of Primitivo red or two.

- What's the damage?

As well as an a la carte menu, The Shore offers a two or three-course set lunch menu for £8.95 or £11.95 - perfect for midweek munching.
