Tulip Computers, the third largest European computer manufacturer,
has hired hi-tech specialist BourneRiver to co-ordinate its pan-European
PR activities and to carry out work in the UK.
BourneRiver beat Kinross and Render to the pounds 125,000 account in a
two-way pitch last week, after Tulip spoke to a total of 15
consultancies, including the incumbent of two years Worldview.
BourneRiver will co-ordinate Tulip’s in-house and agency resources
across ten European countries, working with Imageware in Italy, Foxroad
in Belgium and Lineas de Communication in Spain. In the UK, BourneRiver
will also be responsible for promoting Tulip primarily to the business
The appointment follows Tulip’s acquisition of PC producer Commodore
last month. Tulip had previously focused on the corporate market, but
with the acquisition of Commodore it plans to move into the retail
’Tulip has a strong set of brand values which have been latterly
under-used,’ said BourneRiver director Matthew Bantock. ’The challenge
is to raise the profile of the brand to its previous position.’
