Hardie to review PR at the ITV Network Centre

ITV’s PR and marketing operations are poised for a shake-up with this week’s appointment of a new marketing and commercial director.

ITV’s PR and marketing operations are poised for a shake-up with

this week’s appointment of a new marketing and commercial director.



John Hardie has been brought in to the newly-created post, from his role

as managing director, cosmetics and toiletries, at Procter and

Gamble.



His appointment finalises ITV’s new senior management team - which

includes Richard Eyre as chief executive and David Liddiment as

programme director - as the network faces pressure to tackle falling

viewing figures.



PR and marketing staff at ITV are now waiting to hear what the new

structure will be under Hardie. Under current PR arrangements, Carol

Millward leads a small team as head of press and publicity at the ITV

Network Centre.



Her role is a corporate one, with her remit covering sport and acquired

programming, as each regional ITV company handles its own publicity for

individual programmes.



Millward said: ’Now that the senior management team is in place, any

reorganisation issues will be addressed.’
