STOP PRESS: Tory Party restructures its PR machine

Conservative Central Office is to integrate its communications and research departments in a bid to improve its overall PR function in the run-up to the next general election. Director of political operations Andrew Cooper will continue in his role, which covers press relations and political intelligence, as will head of research Danny Finkelstein, but the two will collaborate more closely and openly to create what the Conservatives are calling a ’war room’. This comes in the wake of a decision by Conservative Party chief executive Archie Norman to restructure the party and cut costs.
