PR network EURO RSCG International Communications has been appointed by
Norway’s state telecoms giant to handle a global public relations
The European and US network won Telenor International AS’s business,
thought to carry fees of pounds 100,000 and an overall budget of pounds
200,000, in a three-way pitch in Oslo.
The Telenor account will be led by EURO RSCG’s London agency, Biss
Lancaster, in partnership with its Hamburg office IPR&O.
Graham Lancaster, EURO RSCG and Biss Lancaster chairman, said the
network would be aiming to raise Telenor’s global profile and to
demonstrate its strengths, particularly in the fields of mobile
telephony and satellite services.
He said two key audiences to be targeted were senior company executives
- who the agency aims to assure of the commercial benefits of using good
telecoms -and Telenor’s potential business partners and suppliers.
Lancaster said he thought EURO RSCG’s technical expertise, demonstrated
by its work for such clients as BT and Nortel, and the strength and
flexibility of its network had helped clinch the account.
Euro RSCG, which was awarded the account earlier this month, kicked off
its campaign by supporting, via its Bratislavan consultancy Hermes Plus,
Telenor’s recent tender for a Slovakian mobile licence. The licence is
due to be awarded in July.
