Perpetual, the Henley-based fund manager, is searching the market for
its first retained public relations adviser.
The company, which saw half-yearly profits soar by 48 per cent this year
to pounds 25.2 million, has checked credentials from around five
agencies with experience in the financial services sector and hopes to
have an adviser in place next month.
Marketing manager Lindy Reynolds said Perpetual had been galvanised into
hunting for an agency following favourable press coverage during the
launch of its Income and Growth Investment Trust during February and
‘We have been considering it for about a year now,’ she said, ‘But
having seen the press coverage on the investment trust launch we felt it
was a good time to review our PR requirements.’
The trust launch, which in fact fell far short of raising Perpetual’s
reported upper target of pounds 250 million, was handled by First
Financial. Reynolds declined to say whether that agency was being
considered for retainer work or to identify the other firms on the

relations resources. Henderson Administration, Threadneedle Asset
Management and Hill Samuel Asset Management have all appointed new
agencies since the beginning of the year.
