NEWS: Reorganisation prompts Swiss Life PR review

Swiss Life, the insurance and pensions provider, is reviewing its PR

requirements after four years with Ludgate Communications.

The company has held discussions with nine agencies, including the

incumbent, and hopes to draw up a shortlist of four firms by the end of

this week. An appointment is expected at the end of June.

David Kneeshaw, director of personal finance and marketing at Swiss

Life, said that the review had been prompted by organisational changes

at the company and not because of dissatisfaction with Ludgate’s

performance.

The company recently overhauled its operating structure by splitting

into three autonomous divisions: employee benefits, personal finance and

investment. Each division is responsible for its own marketing

initiatives, although PR strategy continues to straddle Swiss Life’s

business activities.

Kneeshaw said that the selected agency would be responsible for

promoting Swiss Life’s products and services to the business and trade

press. He declined to be drawn on fees, but said that the company was

prepared to invest seriously in its PR. ‘We are not a two-bit company so

it will be a decent fee,’ he said.
