Swiss Life, the insurance and pensions provider, is reviewing its PR
requirements after four years with Ludgate Communications.
The company has held discussions with nine agencies, including the
incumbent, and hopes to draw up a shortlist of four firms by the end of
this week. An appointment is expected at the end of June.
David Kneeshaw, director of personal finance and marketing at Swiss
Life, said that the review had been prompted by organisational changes
at the company and not because of dissatisfaction with Ludgate’s
The company recently overhauled its operating structure by splitting
into three autonomous divisions: employee benefits, personal finance and
investment. Each division is responsible for its own marketing
initiatives, although PR strategy continues to straddle Swiss Life’s
Kneeshaw said that the selected agency would be responsible for
promoting Swiss Life’s products and services to the business and trade
press. He declined to be drawn on fees, but said that the company was
prepared to invest seriously in its PR. ‘We are not a two-bit company so
it will be a decent fee,’ he said.
