Brian Capon, press and information manager at the British Bankers

Association is seeking volunteers from the PR community to dress up as

pink fairies.

Capon is getting behind ’Operation Pink Fairy’ as part of his role on

the committee of the Chislehurst District Scout Fellowship which helps

channel resources into less affluent Scout groups.

He is seeking applications from teams of four willing to wander around

London on Saturday 6 June with buckets collecting for charity. There is

a goal - teams have to get to Bexleyheath by any means possible while

collecting the loot. The team which collects most gets to give all the

money they collect to their nominated charity. The remaining cash is

split fifty-fifty between the Scouts and other charities nominated by

teams.

So has Capon convinced the stuffed shirts at the Bankers’ Association to

enter a team? ’Not yet but I’m working on it,’ he tells me. ’They’re a

bit worried about dressing up in fairy costumes.’

For those of you who don’t mind looking like the fairies pictured (who

are all members of the Scout Fellowship)give Brian Capon a call on 0171

216 8810.
