Diary: PR people hit the road with a marathon effort

Word reaches me that several prominent members of the PR community are competing in this Sunday’s London Marathon.

Word reaches me that several prominent members of the PR community

are competing in this Sunday’s London Marathon.

Veteran City PR man Richard Pollen, formerly of Valin Pollen and now

head of Pollen Associates, is to attempt the event for the second year

running and hopes to better last year’s time of three and a half

hours.

Also running for a worthwhile cause are Josie Dobrin and Allison

Pentland of Luther Pendragon who are hoping to raise money for research

into multiple myeloma (bone marrow cancer). Dobrin’s mother is

undergoing treatment for the disease, which also affects younger

patients.

Phillida de la Billiere of Consolidated Communications and Lauren Mogan

at Two Ten Communications are also taking part. They will do well to

match Gareth David of College Hill in the marathon. David’s best time

for the 26.3 mile stretch is three hours and eleven minutes and he’s

looking to break this at this year’s marathon.

Good luck to everyone competing and lets hope they’re aren’t too many

sprains and aching limbs around offices on the following Monday.
