INTERNATIONAL: O’Connell is latest to quit Shandwick

NEW YORK: Daniel O’Connell, managing director of Shandwick’s New York office, has left the agency without announcing future plans.

NEW YORK: Daniel O’Connell, managing director of Shandwick’s New

York office, has left the agency without announcing future plans.

Shandwick US president Scott Meyer said that O’Connell had left because

of ’growing philosophical differences and diminishing buy in’ to

organisational changes.

His departure follows a restructure this year in which the Shandwick

holding company, International PR, has trimmed its regional

management.

Shandwick Americas chief executive officer Larry Kaplan and Miller/

Shandwick president Peter Snyder have both left the agency this

year.

O’Connell joined in 1994 from Robert Marston Associates, a New York PR

agency. Meyer, who is based in New York, has taken over as temporary

head of the office.

Meyer will work with New York practice leaders Diane Perry and Cliff

Berman, and Shandwick’s recently-named US president Michael Petruzzello.
