It seems the decision on when we get our first glimpse of Sir Tim Bell’s
biography is down to John Major himself.
The book by Mark Holling-sworth is with publisher, Hodder and Stoughton,
and is due to be published six weeks before the election.
Whether that means this autumn or next spring is, of course, a matter
for the Prime Minister although, no doubt, Sir Tim - an adviser to Major
- will have his own views.
Meanwhile, there is the spectre of a newspaper serialisation to keep
interest bubbling. The Daily Mirror is rumoured to be interested.
As yet the book has no title. Any suggestions? Send your entries to Bell
