Public Affairs: The Week in Lobbying

Portland partner David Wilson is leaving the agency to become an area director at the East of England Development Agency.

Wilson joined Portland in 2007 and currently heads up the agency's McDonald's account team. He told PRWeek: 'After 20 years in the industry, I decided it was time to do something different.'

Guido Fawkes will address the next CIPR Government Affairs Group meeting on 23 March. The well-known blogger will speak about lobbying and the influence of blogging on the political world.

Insight Public Affairs has published the second volume of its Parliamentary Candidates to Watch guide. The new volume profiles an additional 32 candidates who are likely to be key players during the next Parliament.

Ogilvy PR Worldwide has announced the appointment of a new managing director in Brussels, with public affairs specialist Jeff Chertack having relocated from the agency's Washington DC office. He joined Ogilvy in 2003 from the Washington public affairs firm DCS Group. He takes over from Natalie Sarkic-Todd, who will continue to advise the firm on a consultancy basis. Prior to Ogilvy, Sarkic-Todd had worked for public affairs agency EPPA and British Gas.
