Alistair Mackinnon-Musson, a director of financial PR firm Financial
Dynamics, is leaving after ten years to join its smaller rival Square
Mile Communications.
Mackinnon-Musson, 33, joins the agency this week as one of three
shareholding directors of Square Mile Holdings along with joint managing
directors Tim Jackaman and Susan Ellis.
He declined to reveal how much money he is putting into the company but
described his shareholding as ‘substantial’.
One of the original shareholders of FD, Mackinnon-Musson is thought to
have made a substantial amount from the agency’s earn-out agreement with
the BDDP Group, which was concluded at the end of last year.
‘If I’m going to make a break, it is a natural time to make it,’ he told
PR Week. He added that the parting was very amicable.
All or most of Mackinnon-Musson’s clients at FD are expected to move
with him. Among his clients are Next, Sketchley, Monsoon and My Kinda
Town.
The appointment is a coup for Jackaman, who has been wooing Mackinnon
Musson for two years.
The agency - ranked 56 in PR Week’s Top 150 PR Consultancies 1996 has a
fee income of just over pounds 1.2 million.
