Sarbutts has joined forces with Mike Carter, owner of digital marketing HR company Orchard, to set up the agency. It positions itself as ‘operating at the meeting point between outbound marketing and customer support'.

BrandAlert will search the internet to find consumers who have expressed an intention to choose a particular brand or a need for customer support, and will then intervene to offer information, guidance or referral to its clients’ products and services.

‘Consumers are increasingly using social media to seek recommendations from their network of contacts and share their experiences, both bad and good,' said Sarbutts.

‘Those questions, answers and opinions are gold for companies looking for an efficient way to increase revenue, referral and recommendation,' he added.

The company believes it is not in competition with traditional agencies. It claims to be in discussions with potential clients.
