The publisher of the Guinness Book of Records has hired the Red

Consultancy to boost the profile of its brands.

Worth between pounds 50,000 and pounds 100,000 in fees, the Guinness

Publishing account was handed to Red after the agency was recommended by

Guinness Brewing.

Red has worked on a project basis for the brewers.

The campaign aims to raise the profile of Guinness Publishing at

corporate level, as well as boosting individual brands in the market

place.

’The Guinness Book of Records is almost like an institution,’ said Red

managing director Lesley Brend. ’We want to get people to take it off

the shelves and make it more accessible.’

Red’s first task will be supporting the launch of the latest Guinness

Book of Hit Singles this month.

The book has been revamped to give it a more contemporary image, with a

more user-friendly layout and design and an introduction written by

comedian Mark Lamarr.
