TURIN: Hill and Knowlton has been appointed to handle corporate PR
for Juventus, the Turin-based football club which counts a fan base of
ten million across Italy.
The agency, Juventus’ first, was selected without a pitch on a one-year
corporate PR contract. It will also work on special projects for
H&K will run the account from its Milan office, reporting to the
football club’s marketing manager, Romi Gai.
The first project Hill and Knowlton will be involved in is building on
the recent launch of Juventus’ branded Mastercard credit card.
Hill and Knowlton deputy general manager Valerio Vago, one of the
account leaders, said: ’It’s quite unusual for a football team to
develop corporate PR. We’re very proud to be working for what is one of
the biggest brand names in Italy.’
Juventus is 99.6 per cent owned by Ifi, the holding company for the
Agnelli Group, whose interests include Fiat.
