Fox Kids PR and publicity head Katie Bourne is moving to the BBC to
handle publicity for the broadcaster’s digital and on-line channels.
Bourne will be one of nine publicity commissioners reporting to
television press and publicity head Vanda Rumney. She will oversee press
relations for digital channels BBC Choice, BBC Knowledge - a learning
channel which launches in June - and BBC Online.
Bourne, who leaves Fox Kids this week, worked on the the cable and
satellite channel’s launch in the UK and 11 other countries across
Europe during her two-and-a-half years there.
At the BBC, she will be responsible for publicity for further digital
channel launches as they arise.
Fox Kids does not intend to replace her immediately, and PR will become
marketing director Martin Harvey’s responsibility.
