Phonelink, the on-line information service, has hired Text 100 to
promote its business information service Tel-Me.
Text has been briefed to help increase the number of Tel-Me business
users through a media relations and events management programme
budgeted at around pounds 80,000.
The appointment follows a month-long review of PR (PR Week 1 March) and
ends a two-and-a-half year relationship with Buffalo Communications,
which helped launch the service in May 1994
Tel-Me’s marketing strategy director Chris Knowles explained that the
review was prompted by Phonelink’s decision to launch a new version of
Tel-Me later this year and was not related to Buffalo’s performance.
‘Buffalo did an excellent job but it was an appropriate time to hold a
review,’ he said. ‘We were also considering our PR programme for the
next year and wanted to see what other agencies could do.
