Patrick Vercoe, former chairman of collapsed West Midlands public
relations agency Belou, has resurfaced with his former agency.
Vercoe became a partner of Banbury-based JBA PR in January, a month
after Belou called in liquidators with debts of almost pounds 300,000.
The move was a re-appointment for Vercoe, who was partner of JBA
(formerly Julian Berrisford Associates) from 1993 to 1994.
Vercoe, a founder of Countrywide Communications, says JBA intends to
develop beyond its current automotive PR focus. He said: ‘We have
recently won a couple of pieces of business and are looking at new
opportunities on the business to business side.’
He confirmed that, having bought Belou’s ‘goodwill’, JBA was speaking to
some of its ex-clients but would not identify them.
Former Belou clients included Air France Holidays, Electrolux, Vauxhall
Motors, Stannah Lifts and the University of Warwick.
