The account, previously held by Freud Communications, was won by Biss

following a three-way pitch.

Fiona Noble, board director at Biss Lancaster, said the agency would

particularly focus on supporting the Enid Blyton Company’s television

licensing operations. ’Our aim is to increase the brand’s value, to

strengthen the TV licensing side and develop further business.’ The

account will include media relations, consumer relations and a

business-to-business aspect to cover the company’s licencees.

Biss Lancaster will be supporting a specially developed version of

Noddy, which is currently being filmed for launch in America and

Canada.A second series of the Famous Five is due to screen on the ITV

Network later this year.

Enid Blyton wrote 700 books for children and has been translated into

over 40 languages with annual worldwide sales of more than 10

million.

The Enid Blyton Company was bought by the Trocadero in 1995, which has

plans to develop less well known characters in the portfolio.
