The Enid Blyton Company has appointed Biss Lancaster to handle all
PR for the childrens author’s range of characters, books and
The account, previously held by Freud Communications, was won by Biss
following a three-way pitch.
Fiona Noble, board director at Biss Lancaster, said the agency would
particularly focus on supporting the Enid Blyton Company’s television
licensing operations. ’Our aim is to increase the brand’s value, to
strengthen the TV licensing side and develop further business.’ The
account will include media relations, consumer relations and a
business-to-business aspect to cover the company’s licencees.
Biss Lancaster will be supporting a specially developed version of
Noddy, which is currently being filmed for launch in America and
Canada.A second series of the Famous Five is due to screen on the ITV
Network later this year.
Enid Blyton wrote 700 books for children and has been translated into
over 40 languages with annual worldwide sales of more than 10
The Enid Blyton Company was bought by the Trocadero in 1995, which has
plans to develop less well known characters in the portfolio.
