Disneyland Paris has ended its hunt for a head of PR for the UK and

Ireland with the appointment of Lowe Bell consultant Nicole Walsh.

Walsh, who used her maiden name, Levene, at Lowe Bell Communications,

joins the Disneyland Paris team on 2 February. She will report to Mark

Gordon, director of Disneyland Paris in London, and work with one PR

assistant.

She replaces James Morgan, who has returned to his career as a

photographer (PR Week, 28 February 1997).

’I was attracted by the opportunity to work for such a fantastic brand,

and a product which is constantly regenerating itself,’ said Walsh.

Disneyland Paris has a long-standing relationship with Biss Lancaster

and retains Financial Dynamics for its financial PR activities.

Visitor numbers to the theme park have recovered from a low in 1994 of

8.8 million, to reach 12.6 million in 1997. Disneyland Paris’s parent

company Euro Disney this week reported its first quarter revenues for

the 1998 fiscal year were up by 16.6 per cent. However, Euro Disney

currently has the debts incurred during a refinancing in 1994 hanging

over its head.
