Flack: (Saving) on expenses - Whitechapel Gallery, London E1

Reviewer: Lara Jacobs, account manager, Adhoc PR

- What is it good for?

Whitechapel Gallery Dining Room is succeeding where many have failed. A great gallery with a really good restaurant that does good value lunches and is an excellent destination for a business date.

- Signature dish

Look for pot-roasted pork belly with pistachios and dates, white bean mash and roast fennel, or sea bass, cream of corn and porcini popcorn. My personal favourite, which is a winner with vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike, is head chef Maria Elia's 'texture of seasonal vegetables'.

- Who's the boss?

London caterers Vacherin, working with Elia, manage the Whitechapel Gallery Dining Room, Cafe/Bar and events business at the Whitechapel Gallery.

- Tips please?

If you would like to spice up your evening with a bit of art and culture, Thursday night is a great time to do it, as the Whitechapel Gallery and Dining Room are both open late.

- What's the damage?

Starters are priced at £6, main courses at £15 on average and desserts at £6.

Whitechapel Gallery Dining Room, 77-82 White-chapel High Street, London, E1 7QX 020 7522 7896.
