Edelman, H&K and Freud in battle to promote 2012 Olympic Games

Organisers of the London 2012 Olympics are on the brink of selecting a PR agency to promote the Games, with a trio of big names on tenterhooks.

PRWeek understands that Edelman, Hill & Knowlton and Freud Communications took part in the final round of pitches this week. The three were shortlisted after initial presentations from six firms, including Weber Shandwick and Bell Pottinger.

Last year, it emerged bidding agencies had been asked whether they were willing to provide their services in return for sponsorship of the Games (prweek.com/uk, 18 December 2009).

According to the tender document seen by PRWeek, agencies were asked to indicate their interest in a 'value in kind' deal.
