Herald Communications, the technology PR arm of the Mathieu
Thomas/Herald group, is looking to open a branch in Italy, in the latest
phase of its international expansion.
Paul Mathieu, managing director of the group, confirmed that Mathieu
Thomas/Herald planned to open an office in Milan early next year to
service IT clients. He added that office space had been found for the
new outfit but that he was still seeking two staff to manage it.
Ranked 62nd in the UK, with a fee income of pounds 1.1 million last
year, Mathieu Thomas/Herald already has branches in Paris and Munich.
‘We set ourselves the task of being in four European countries by the
end of the decade and several clients have indicated that once we are in
Italy they will be happy to follow,’ said Mathieu.
Agencies are increasingly turning their attention to Italy, which has
fast growing consumer and technology sectors. Fleishman-Hillard and Cohn
and Wolfe opened for business in January, while Text 100 is also
considering a Milan office.
